Professional “Safety & Hygiene” Section
🩺 The Doctor’s Guide to a Safe Bangkok Safari Trip
By our Founder, Clinically Trained in Critical Care
Safari World is an open-air park. In the Thai humidity, the physiological stress on children and seniors is significant.
1. Heatstroke Prevention (Clinical Perspective)
- The “Egg World” Hack: If anyone in your group feels dizzy or flushed, head immediately to Egg World. It is one of the few fully air-conditioned, indoor exhibits. Use it as a “cooling station” for 15 minutes every 2 hours.
- Electrolyte Balance: Don’t just drink plain water. The combination of walking and high humidity leads to salt loss. I recommend carrying ORS (Oral Rehydration Salts) or buying electrolyte drinks at the park kiosks.
2. Pediatric Safety: Animal Encounters
- Giraffe Feeding: While safe, ensure children do not try to pet the giraffes. Their tongues are extremely long and muscular, and they can inadvertently scratch sensitive skin.
- Sanitization: After feeding animals or touching railings in the stadiums, use an alcohol-based sanitizer. With thousands of visitors daily, these surfaces are high-risk zones for FOMITES (objects that can carry infection).
3. Food Hygiene at the Buffet
- The Savanna Restaurant: This is the dedicated Indian section. Since it is a high-volume buffet, prioritize freshly replenished hot containers.
- Avoid Raw Salads: Unless you are certain of the washing standards, stick to cooked Indian dishes like Dal, Rice, and hot Sabzis to avoid “Traveler’s Diarrhea.”
